The International Ariga Seminar was born from a meaningful encounter during the 11th World Kendo Championships in Santa Clara, California, where Ariga Sensei met members of the Portuguese Kendo community. This meeting marked the beginning of a lasting friendship. After years of staying in touch and learning about the challenges faced in developing Kendo in Portugal, Ariga Sensei accepted the invitation from the Portuguese Kendo Association to support their efforts by leading a seminar.

Since 2005, Ariga Sensei has visited Portugal annually, joined by a group of high-ranking Sensei, for a weekend of technical excellence, cultural exchange, and strong community spirit. We look forward to welcoming you to this special event and sharing another unforgettable experience together!
