At Kirikaeshi, we want you to be fully satisfied with your purchase. If something isn’t quite right, we’ll do our best to help.

Before returning any item, please contact us first so we can understand the reason for the return and guide you through the process.

Return period

You may return eligible items within 14 days of receiving your order.

To qualify for a return, items must be:

  • Unused

  • Unwashed

  • In brand-new condition

  • With original tags and packaging

Items returned in a used or altered condition may not be accepted.

Refunds

If your return is approved, we will refund the price paid for the item, including items purchased during promotions or sales.

Refunds are issued in the form of a store credit note.

If the return is not due to an error on our side, the following costs may be deducted from the refund:

  • Original shipping costs

  • Import duties or taxes paid by Kirikaeshi

Free shipping policy

Orders with a total value of over €200qualify for free shipping.

If a return causes the final order value to fall below €200, the original shipping cost that was initially waived will be applied to the refund.

Return conditions

All returned items must include their original packaging and accessories, including:

  • Hakama shipping threads used to keep pleats in place

  • Threads securing the Tare during shipping

  • Removable strings attached to Shinai

For hygiene reasons, we cannot accept returns for:

  • Items containing pet or animal hair

  • Foot or heel protectors

All returned items will be inspected upon arrival.

Damaged or defective items

If you receive a damaged or defective product, please contact us and include clear photographs showing the issue.

Once reviewed, we will advise you on the next steps.

Return shipping

Returned items remain the customer’s responsibility until they reach our warehouse.

We recommend using a tracked and insured shipping service and keeping proof of postage.

Kirikaeshi cannot be responsible for:

  • Items returned to us by mistake

  • Items returned due to refused delivery

Custom and personalised products

Custom or personalised items cannot be returned or cancelled.

This includes:

  • Made-to-order products

  • Iaito

  • Products with embroidery or engraving

Once an order for a customised product has been confirmed, it cannot be cancelled or returned.

What if my item doesn’t fit?

If your item doesn’t fit, it can be returned provided it is unused and unwashed.

Before sending it back, please contact us so we can understand the situation.

For example:

  • If Kirikaeshi sent the wrong size, we will cover the return shipping costs.

  • If incorrect measurements were provided, the customer will be responsible for the return shipping costs and the original shipping costs.

Important sizing advice (kendo equipment)

Sizing for Budo equipment, especially Kendo gear, can sometimes be confusing.

Please keep in mind:

  • Bogu parts may feel tight when new, but they are designed to stretch and adapt to your size with use.

  • Cotton uniforms may shrink slightly after washing, so they can initially feel a bit larger.

Because we cannot accept returns on washed or used items, we recommend contacting us if you have any doubts about sizing before using the product.

If you Simply don’t like the item

If the product isn’t what you expected, you can still return it.

As long as the item is unused, unwashed, and in original condition, we will refund the value of the product.

However:

  • Delivery costs cannot be refunded

  • Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility


Price changes after orrdering

As a specialist retailer of Kendo equipment, our prices may change due to factors such as:

  • Exchange rates

  • Supplier pricing

  • Stock availability

  • Taxes and import costs

  • Market demand

If the price of a product changes after you have placed your order, we cannot refund the difference or request additional payment.
